Enmado Rokuro é um estudante que gosta de dar em cima de meninas na rua, embora nunca com sucesso, mas teve um passado bem diferente. Ele foi sobrevivente de uma tragédia e agora quer apenas levar uma vida pacata, até que uma menina aparece diante dele e o leva de volta àquilo de que ele tanto fugiu.
Depois do encontro de Rokuro com Benio, os dois se desentendem e tomam caminhos distintos, mas parece que os caminhos voltam a se cruzar em pouco tempo.
Apesar da revelação de que Benio e Rokuro são as estrelas gêmeas, a vida segue normalmente e Benio se matricula no colégio local. No entanto, a atividade dos kegare se intensifica, não dando folga aos demais exorcistas.
Os três exorcistas do Dormitório Seika saem para cumprir seus afazeres, mas deixam Benio e Rokuro estudando. No entanto, ao realizar o exorcismo de uma casa, os kegare já os estavam esperando em Magano.
A presença dos kegare é constante em todo o país, apenas com a exceção de Narukami, onde a quantidade e força deles é bem superior. Por conta disse, o exorcista chefe manda alguém para avaliar a situação na cidade.
Apesar de ser fim de semana, a agenda dos exorcistas está cheia, pois os kegare não param. Como Ryogo acabou de receber alta, não querem sobrecarregá-lo, e Rokuro se oferece para ir junto aos exorcismos. Com isso, Benio ganha uma folga e acaba se encontrando com Mayura.
Mayura descobre que Rokuro e Benio estão morando juntos e fica indignada. Ela não quer que seu amigo de infância volte a lutar e sofra como no passado.
Depois da revelação de que Rokuro esteve envolvido na tragédia de Hinatsuki, Benio o desafia para uma luta. No entanto, outro elemento dessa tragédia se mostra diante deles.
Depois do encontro fatídico com o irmão de Benio, as estrelas gêmeas querem ficar mais fortes e imploram que Seigen os treine, mas ele nega. Porém, a mestre da Benio faz uma visita surpresa aos dois.

Seigen attacks Yuuto, which proves useless. Yuuto fatally wounds Seigen who casts a barrier around the Twin Star Exorcists and the fainted Mayura. Seigen resolves to blow himself up; however, Rokuro and Benio escape from inside the barrier, which again Yuuto congratulates. Seigen is saved minus one arm and Rokuro manages to land a punch on Yuuto who is shocked. He then announces that he will wait for Rokuro's answer (whether he will join Yuuto on the dark side) at a place where there are precious memories for the both of them: Hiinatsuki Dormitory. Seigen and Mayura were hospitalized: Seigen undergoing surgery and Mayura still unconscious. Jissama has received information that the Twelve Guardians has been mobilized to destroy Yuuto and he gives Rokuro a package that Seigen had been wanting to give him. Inside, there is the black exorcist uniform that Seigen wore. Rokuro wears the uniform and announces to Benio that he will defeat Yuuto even with the Twelve Guardians mobilized.
Rokuro has sworn to defeat Yuto. But... how? The Twin Star Exorcists look at the facts and try to find a way to strengthen their odds against an opponent that outclasses them in nearly every way.
